I think that in the last general election Liberal Democrats were too scared to be liberal. I dont think they should make the same mistake again.
If we abandon core principles such as internationalism and liberalism, then all we come across as to the average voter is another centrist party. there is no point in voting for that.

So far I have focused on the historic Conservative "principal" of power and authority but no responsibility…and this “principle” has been even more evident in the last few weeks-
LIAM’S LETTER
As soon as this was made public the focus has not been on the politicians but someone in the MOD who leaked the letter. Fortunately for the politicians the MOD already has a public image of incompetence with money. So if they stage this letter trick, the public view will automatically put the MOD, not them, in the front row for any “responsibility”!
CEOP CENTRE
The idea to make the CEOP part of the new National Crime Agency is not based on the financial benefits of the move. Online protection of children is a growing problem and, if anything, the CEOP is likely to need more development and resources.
This is a highly emotional issue, may affect many people and is much more social, moral and sensitive than other issues. But as part of a bigger organisation, the government has the barrier they need to insure they are not” responsible” for any problem!
CHILD BENEFIT
This will be a part in my comment on Cameron’s speech, but there is one point which is part of this comment.
As it became clear that the proposal was “faulted” the gossip was that it was Clegg and Cable pushing it. Senior conservatives denied this, but I think they want to keep this weapon for the bigger fights...
There are other examples but with Osborne’s report on the 20th what we are being told now may change. After all the government must be “responsible” and he may take the opportunity to act as "The hero on a white horse”!

It would be great to have your help in St Clement's again, if you can spare some time. Maybe you can send me a reminder of your e-mail address and mobile number - which I have in my own phone somewhere but without your name attached, so no way of telling which it is! Also, I've set up a Facebook group - encouraged by all the comments here. Search 'Jones for St Clem's'.
All the best
Graham
