Expenses scandal was symptom of fact that MPs formed their own rules for expenses. It was WRONG.

MPs determining the best way to elect themselves is also WRONG; let the PUBLIC decide. A referendum of appropriate voting system will not deflect MPs from dealing with the financial crisis.

A referendum is not negotiable - we must drive this message home & not be deflected by self interest!

Really hope Nick maintains momentum tonight; i think he HAS to show a little ruthlessness now and go for both Cameron & Brown separately when conditions allow.
