Jordan,

Welcome to Say NO to Trident. I hope you will be a regular contributor to our pages and maybe we shall see you at conference. If you are planning to go to Gateshead in March I am hoping to arrange a get together this confeence instead of a fringe meeting - that will be in September in Brighton. I see you are in Wolverhampton so maybe we shall see you at the Social Liberal Forum or West Midlands Regional conferences. We began as a one issue group ie demanding that there should be NO replacement for Trident and associated system. We have developed in to a NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS at all group although we have members, who would not go that far. Our aim is to work with CND and other anti0nuclear eapons organisations to eliminate the UK nuclear arsenal and then that of the whole world (I think it will have to be in that order). The difficulty is persuading our Government to be brave enough to cross the road alone first if we cannot secure a multinational disarmament agreement. One issue, which is of real interest, is Scottish independence because that could mean that there will be no base for Trident and Vanguard subs in the UK unless they are relocated to England or Wales. We live in interesting times and I feel we are making history now.
