At Sheffield city council bye-elections in May 2011 the Gleadless Valley Ward councillor, Denise Reaney, was out-voted and three Labour councillors were elected. In my opinion this isn't fair because not everybody living in Gleadless Valley wants to approach a Labour Councillor with their everyday problems (e.g. tenancy disagreements, nuisance neighbours, housing problems).

I think it's about time the UK Government brought in a 'PAVEMENT TAX' and charged it to all vehicle owners.
The money raised by the tax could be spent on repairing all the damaged pavements / footpaths, which are damaged mainly by vehicle owners parking on them. Hence the reason for charging the tax to vehicle owners.
