Here's a topic for discussion:

Sunday 31 January, 6.0 pm, St Andrew's Church, Linton Road, Oxford (off Banbury Road)

A public debate on Assisted Dying

Evan Harris MP will be putting the case for a change in the law. He will be opposed by Dr Peter Saunders, Director of Care not Killing and Gen Secretary of the Christian Medical Fellowship.

All are welcome and, given the venue, I expect Evan would be glad of a bit of support.

Yes Grayham, we should study our local Councils' and MPs' sites, and get to know what's going on in Oxford and in Parliament. We might discuss items of interest that are being proposed, and send resollutions letting them know what we think:

There are sites for each of the two constituencies, for the city council group, and for some wards. I guess this is a good site for informal discussion across the board.

Well, you could help me campaign in St Clement's ward - but I would say that, wouldn't I !! ;-) Seriously, we have a great chance to take a seat from the Greens as well as maximising the vote for Steve. Lots of multi-occupancy (students, other low-income singles and small families) plus streets of Victorian terraces and semi-detached where LibDems can do really well. Any ideas?

Graham, I offered them my help and I will do what they ask me to and encourage my friends to do the same.
What should be my next step, you think?

Graham,
done!

Contact Steve's team on the963club@lists.libdems.org.uk, Olga (963 is the number of votes we were short of winning last time). Maybe offer to devote an hour or two a week to delivering, phone canvass, or helping the campaign with specific skills - like marketing. Also the City Council elections will be on May 6, the likely General Election date, with Lib Dems strongly placed to take or share power. A vote for the LibDem candidate should translate into a vote for Steve, and vice versa.

Graham,
ok. What can we do to make this happen?

'One step at a time'... A good first step is to get Steve Goddard elected in Oxford East.
