Lib Dem Act

We definitely need to get our act together on this.

Our current IT policy is at http://www.makeitpolicy.org.uk/ (hard to believe it was so long ago).

It's still open for comments!  Anyone want to go along and have their say?

I will be reading through this and suggesting key areas to update in the next couple of weeks
Where is the place to put some thoughts together, there or here?

Try here for now, easier than trying to get everybody onto a very stale mailing list.

Will be worth trying to get a collaborative workspace, i.e. a wiki or something sorted out to allow quick progress.
It would be useful, at the moment our position, as with the Tories, is quite solution centric, so doesn't really reflect the commercial and legal side of things.

It would probably be useful to get some structure together on the various issues, and identify where a technology policy interfaces with others; Science, education, improving Gov service delivery, privacy, public data etc.
I'm new to act, what's the etiquette on this. If a wiki would speed this along I'll happily put one up for you in minutes (http://www.digitaleconomyact.info was one I quickly put up to enable a collaborative effort to inform none technical people about the act and how to work within it).

But being the new guy in class, I don't want to be stepping on any toes.
I wouldn't worry about stepping on people's toes (although I am also somewhat 'the new guy') - if people don't do things then things don't happen, whereas if you provide some kind of resource it might or might not get used but at least it's there and people can build on it...
