Lib Dem Act

The memory may be fading but did anyone indulge in the January Sale at Wetherspoons  Ruddles Best at 99p a pint.  Irresponsible?  The only drunkenness I saw at my nearest, was a bunch of vodka/red bull lads, washed down with bad lager.

The pint was good BTW.

Didn't see that particular one, but I've always felt Wetherspoons were quite responsible. It's the only chain I always feel I can go to as a woman on my own in a strange city - I always feel confident that if there's trouble, it will be dealt with.
I have only been in once to indulge in their Rabbie Burns offer of haggis and a pint (of Carte Blanche) for £3.99. Wetherspoons pubs are generally large and well-run. They also seem to attract an older clientèle which is more responsible. Although they cater for the pitcher of crap drinker I very rarely see any drunken groups. The standard of food and beer varies but most outlets in Glasgow are reliable for their beer in a town now not over-endowed with real ale outlets.
CAMRA membership comes with £20 in 50p-off vouchers at Wetherspoons. The vouchers are spread out over the year so in any one quarter i can't claim more than £5.

I missed the january sales, but i still have my Q1 vouchers to spend!
My Wetherspoons has had most of the decent cask beers at £1.75 per pint so my 50P vouchers have dropped it to a cracking price. A pint and plate of (half) decent food is less than a burger joint lunch !

The beer was fine. The haggis wasn't bad either.
