What's Your Favourite Beer, then? 15 Replies

Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby for me, although it tends to be a bit of a bugger to get hold of up here. My everyday drink is Abbeydale Moonshine.

The memory may be fading but did anyone indulge in the January Sale at Wetherspoons  Ruddles Best at 99p a pint.  Irresponsible?  The only drunkenness I saw at my nearest, was a bunch of vodka/red…Continue

Anyone attend the Peteborough Beer Festival in August? 2nd largest in the UK (largest tented one in Europe I'm told), hundreds of beers, live music in the evenings, chilled, relaxed, family friendly drinking in the afternoons. It's one of the first dates on my calendar each year.

I've moved to Northern Ireland, where the real ale situation is dire, but better than it was even a year ago. Unfortunately that doesn't apply to the county I find myself in! Luckily I get across to England every few months and make sure I get a chance to sup plenty. I am a CAMRA member and have been involved at branch level for four years now.

The Crown @ Worthington (near Wigan) is holding a beer festival this weekend (Fri12/3 - Sun 14/3). This excellant pub was voted CAMRA National Pub of the Year Runner Up 2010. Its well worth a visit and the food is superb as a bonus to the ales on offer.
