We can celebrate the dreadful BNP results this election. Well done to everyone who campaigned against them!

I think Rasmus must have mis-read the BME part - it looks as if he thought it said "BNP". A case of mistaken identity I think!

Rasmus...are you for real???

I think it is appaling that you want to elect a BMP MP. Don't you know they are Nazis - really its true they are fascists in fact. Nick Griffiths he wants to be like the British Hitler. Stop this foolishness.

:) think there's a difference between stating intentions n making promises!!
Comment by Earl Bourne on November 27, 2010 at 13:16
Might be an idea not to make any promises in the first place!!

Dear fellow activists:
This group I believe is to champion the cause not to find fault with others.

We are in power albeit in a restrictive role. Nick and our reps are doing a great job.

About inter faith and BME, I am of Indian origin, but I see no colour. I see colourful people with beautiful minds around me. If you delve deeper Christians, Muslims and Jews are 'people of the book', also known as 'ahla al Kitab' in Arabic.

This forum is not for quarrelling but for enlightening ourselves and to move away from our prejudices, stereotypes etc.

I hope I have not enraged anyone. Apologies if I did. Will be more careful next time around.

Thanks

An apt group championing a noble idea within the most progressive party in the UK. Yes, believe me, I have done my home work.

And being a qualified trainer/coach/assessor I try to do my bit to change people's perceptions towards my party - The LibDem.- the truly democratic party with the vision to make Great Britain greater.

We do have Lord Dholakia and Baroness Falkner in the House of Lords. We are delighted and honoured to have them - but we do need more representation of Ethnic Minority Groups in the House of Lords too!

"The party leadership has declared its commitment to getting BME MPs elected and making parliament more representative."

So what has happened? Where are they all?

I have posted this next part up on the other group, so I am sorry for 'double-posting' but this is necessary.

Where are all the "promised" representatives of Ethnic Minority Groups in this new Government?

I have just been on to our Party website to see exactly who are all the MPs elected into Parliament and, especially, who is now in our Government.

Guess what? Not one of them is from an Ethnic Minority Group! Here we are again with all white, predominantly male MPs and Members of the Cabinet (5 men) and most of the Members of the Lib Dem part of this new Government! What has happened? Why do we have no-one who will represent the interests of Ethnic Minority Groups?

I would be interested to hear from anyone who has the answer to this one!
