Emergency Trident debate this morning at 9.00 but it isn't a debate on whether we should have nuclear weapons or not. Say No to Trident had sent in two motions on that issue only to be told the we had discussed the issue recently. We need a vote on the fundamental question of nuclear weapons in future conferences and not at some distant time.

Please note the change of date from Sunday to MONDAY 20th lunchtime 1.30 for 1.40 - 2.20pm for the Say NO To Trident vigil in front of the Conference Arena. Come and encourage Nick to really make our policies fairer by debating and then scrapping Trident.

Anyone who uses EARS - please read this from the EARS Training Team

EARS Training

We are holding 4 Training Sessions at the Liverpool Conference - and are also running half hour bookable one-to-one training [sessions] at the stand.

The EARS Stand is D15 - which is at the end of the hall on the right.

Our 4 Training Sessions are all in Meeting Room 8 at the Hilton Hotel:

(You will need a conference badge or membership card to attend any of them).

They are:

Saturday 16:00-17:30 EARS - Basic Introduction to EARS and Ecanvass. Overview for beginners.

Sunday 09:15-10:45 HANDS - How to use the EARS HandS database to manage helpers. members & supporters locally

Monday 09:15-10:45 EARS - Advanced EARS and introduction to EARS v9. First sight of some of the new v9 features.

Tuesday 16:00-17:30 Casework Manager - How to use Casework Manager for Councillors or MPs

Please encourage suitable delegates to attend EARS, Hands or Councillor Casework training at LIVERPOOL Conference

Please forward these details to all your delegates.
The training courses are also listed in the official party training guide.

As always, One- to -One training on EARS, Casework or HandS is also bookable in half hour slots at our stand.

Do drop by. We would be delighted to see any of you.
Please allow time to reach the training venues.

In order to make them free of the need to register (and pay) for conference, none of them are within the conference centre itself.

Posters

I have had a thought which may help. One way in which we/you could save having to find a board on which to put your posters is to have it laminated by the photoshop or stationers after they have enlarged it/them to A3.

This would serve more than one purpose:-

1) They could be kept for other occasions after this demo

2) Whilst being stiff enough to hold up they would be flexible enough to go into a bag.

3) They won't get torn or damaged or soggy if it rains.

In the long term, any money spent by yourselves doing this would probably be no more than £5 and would be a long term investment as they may be used for other demos etc. later.

P.S. to Janet's post below.

The posters which you can download will only print A4 - if you want A3 sized you will need to get them enlarged on a photocopier - most stationers or Copy Shops will do this for you at minimal cost. A3 size will have a bigger impact. Thanks :~)

Justine and all members of this page,
The Say NO To Trident group will be staging a totally peaceful silent demo outside the Conference arena between 1.40 and 2.20pm on SUNDAY 19th SEPTEMBER. This is important so please put it in your diaries and, if you can, come and take part. You can bring an A3 poster, which can be downloaded from the Say NO To Trident site.We must take this great opportunity to bring the whole issue of nuclear weapons to the attention of our delegates and to a wider public and we expect to get some good publicity from the event. Please contact janet@kingfamily110.org.uk if you can come.
